Second bomb in Bangkok this time in the Chao Phraya river

A very powerful bomb was thrown into the Chao Phraya river at around 2-30 this afternoon (Tuesday 17th August). The explosion underneath the Taksin Bridge sent the water over ten meters high in the air Despite this being a very busy area for passenger ferries nobody was hurt. It is unclear if this latest explosion is connected to the one that went off in the nation’s capital last night.
Witnesses to the explosion said that hundreds of small pellets were strewn in all directions, chilling similar to last night’s bomb. The EOD are at the scene gathering evidence from what is thought to have been a pipe bomb. A second witness said that the pipe bomb had been thrown from the bridge but fell into the water.
