Severe weather warning issued for Surat Thani province

A Meteorological Department statement issued on Friday said isolated downpours are forecast in the lower central and upper southern areas with the four provinces to be hard hit. People in Phetchaburi, Prachuap Khiri Khan, Chumphon and Surat Thani are warned of heavy rains and rough seas on Friday, the weather forecasting bureau said.
The four provinces should brace for ‘’severe’’ weather conditions with waves up to 3 metres in the Gulf of Thailland, it added. The rain will move across the southern peninsular to the Andaman coast on Saturday, it said.
