SOS – Nathon Hospital – Final Maternity Ward – Project Week 7

Week 7 is completed and with it the handover of the Final Maternity Ward – themed in Pink this ward is for the nursing mothers of new born babies.
For our planned Stage 1 we are now undertaking the full refurbishment and refit of the current Treatment/ birthing room to provide not only the necessary preparation and sterile facilities but also a bright new feel to keep spirits cheery.
Our sincere thanks to Rupert Willmott and his company RS Built for providing the painting teams for the Pink Ward.
Following the completion of the Treatment Room on October 1 we intend to regather and following further fundraising (plans are already being implemented) we will commence Stage 2 as soon as possible and this will comprise ALL remaining facilities including provision of both Children’s and Maternity Pyjamas, Refurbishment of the Nurses station with sterile bench tops and storage, Community Courtyard new Roof and fitout as a soft children’s play area, complete rebuild of both sets of toilets and shower facilities, extension/ expansion of very cramped family dining areas plus a new covered outdoor deck and walkway for patients to air their personal laundry and for the Nurses to properly disinfect the bedding.
We have now completed all 7 of the wards programmed!
Further support is URGENTLY needed to help complete a list of further and already planned projects to complete this upgrade before Christmas 2018 – a further THB 2,000,000 is required!
Please note that 100% of all funds or goods and money donated go directly to the Project – all input by Sisters on Samui is voluntary!
Should you wish to donate you can simply contact the Project Manager, David Marshall by email – dm@davd.com.au for Sisters Banking Details or visit our funding page by clicking on this link: https://www.weeboon.com/en/campaign/sos
