Squeezing someone’s neck could kill them – says expert Thai doctor

A Thai doctor expert in the workings of the brain has said that squeezing someone’s neck could kill them.

It involved applying pressure to both sides of the neck. The technique was said to cause a momentary stillness in the patient then a full recovery.
Theerawat Hemajutha at Chula Hospital said that the technique was dangerous and should not be attempted. It could shut off the supply of blood to the brain and result in coma, disability or even death.
He added that the idea that this was a viable treatment was nonsense.
