Sugar cane farmer who slashed ex wife to death waited three days before committing suicide

A man who is believed to have murdered his ex wife was found hanging from a tamarind tree in Chaiyaphum yesterday.
Mrs Dawan Pailart, 45, had been found on Saturday at her house in Don San district with 19 knife wounds.
Neighbors were sure that the assailant was her estranged husband Chelim Bunbamrung who had been trying to get back together with her after they went to the kamnan to dissolve their marriage on June 16th.
They had told the police that he had broken the door down a week after that despite receiving a 50,000 baht financial settlement from his wife. The pair farmed sugar cane.
Relatives of the husband said he was going to give himself up and the police waited for him to show. But when he didn’t they went to find him and discovered that he had hanged himself on a tamarind tree yesterday.
Police believe it to be an open and shut case of a wife murderer taking his own life to escape the consequences.
