Surat Thani governor orders teams to “keep the tourists safe” as rains lash Koh Samui

Following heavy rains in Koh Samui on Friday morning the provincial governor ordered his staff to ensure the safety of tourists at the
island’s Loy Krathong celebrations and Full Moon party in neighboring Koh Pangan.

Sanook reported that the Met office said that 211 milimeters of rain had fallen resulting in floods up to 30 centimeters in depth at the Chaweng Beach area of Bo Phut district.
Governor Wichawut Jinto communicated to all authorities to ensure the safety of tourists, said Sanook.
