Suspect in the Samui car bombing shot dead

On May 2nd over 50 security officers surrounded the Darulbarakah religious school in the Mueang districts of Pattani province to carry out a raid in the early hours of the morning after receiving reports that members of a local separatist movement were gathering in the area.
Security guards saw people moving inside the madras and ordered them to surrender, however they did not and gunshots rang out, prompting the police to pen fire. After several hours in a standoff situation the gunfire ceased and the police secured the school. The suspect had been shot dead during the raid according to the commanders of the Royal Thai Police.
