Temple bells crush 3-year-old kindergarten girl to death

A kindergarten girl was killed and two other boys injured when three big and heavy temple bells fell on them.
The incident happened at Wat Muang Kao temple in Nonthai district of Nakhon Ratchasima province this morning.
According to local police, 16 kindergarten children were escorted by their teacher from the adjacent Muang Kao Children Development Centre to visit the temple.
While most kindergarten children were playing at the temple ground, some children also went to play near the concrete structure where three giant bells were fixed on the beam.
Some climbed over the concrete poles which might be fractured or unstable.
The poles sank and the structure then collapsed on the ground with the three bells.
A 3-year-old girl identified as Piengkwan Namking was crushed to death by the bells, and two other boys injured.
They were immediately rushed to Nonthai hospital.
Nonthai district officer went to inspect the scene and ordered an investigation into the cause of the fatal collapse.
