Ten million baht drug bust at Krabi Airport

Yesterday in a press conference the Customs Department’s Investigation and Suppression Bureau (ISB) and Police Narcotics Suppression Bureau announced that two Thai woman had been arrested for their alleged role in the smuggling of 10.4 million bahts worth of cocaine into Thailand.
Siriwan Yodtheerak, 32 was apprehended on Sunday morning at Krabi International Airport, officials found 2.6 kilograms of cocaine in her luggage after she travelled from Manila on Saturday.
On her arrest Siriwan implicated another Thai lady, Aew Wijit, 34 telling police the woman’s boyfriend had hired her to pick up the luggage and deliver it to Krabi, he had agreed to pay the woman Bt60,000. Aew was later arrested at the Hometel Hotel in Krabi.
Siriawan said she had agreed to transport the drugs due to financial problems and it was her first offence.
