Thai psychological thriller Countdown contender for an Academy Award

Thailand have decied to submit a psychological thriller to the Academy Awards foreign-langauge section.
Countdown, released in December 2012 was directed by Nattawut Poonpiriya and has an 18+ rating.
The film is a dark tale of three teenagers, smoking dop while they holed up in an appartment in New York over New Year when they start to become terrorized by a bible wielding drug dealer named Jesus, played by David Asavanond.
Major studio GHT, better known for more family orientated films, produced the movie. GTH also produced Pee Mak Phrakanon, a ghost comedy that became one of the biggest Thai BO hits of all time.
The unusual Oscar selection was made by the Federatoin of National Film Associations of Thailand which is currently headed by GTH boss Vistue Poolvoraluck
