Thai Red Cross Society’s Organ Donation Center Seminar

The Thai Red Cross Society’s Organ Donation Center has held a seminar to discuss ways to raise the availability of donated organs to meet the needs of patients.
Director of the Organ Donation Center Dr Wisit Titawat disclosed today that on the country’s organ waiting list, over 6,200 or 95% of patients are awaiting a kidney transplant. The next most sought-after organ transplants are for the liver, heart, lung, and pancreas.
In fiscal year 2018, the center received 186 donations and has assisted up to 417 patients. It aims to access 300 donors by the end of the calendar year.
