Thai teenagers throw homemade bombs on the streets of Samui

At around 1am on the 19th of August police on Bophut received reports of some teenagers throwing homemade bombs on the road next to Moo 3 in Bophut. When the police arrived on the scene they discovered pandemonium outside a low cost food vendor market. It transpired that an argument had broken out between two groups of teenagers over their girlfriends. The argument evolved into a fight that some of the street vendors, who were packing up to go home, tried to break up. Two tourists reported hearing a loud blast as they tried to leave the scene of the argument, both were injured and taken to hospital.
Many people were injured in the blast and some were injured in the stampede that ensued after the bombs were thrown. Some of the food vendors were hurt after trying to break up the argument between the two teenagers who fled the scene after the bomb blast. Many were taken to hospital with injuries. The police are now inviting the local vendors and witnesses at the scene to give evidence in order that the youths can be apprehended.
