Thais warned not to bring stunning devices to Hong Kong

The Foreign Ministry said Hong Kong police had sought cooperation from Thai authorities to warn Thai tourists visiting or plan to visit Hong Kong not to carry stunning device into Hong Kong because the device is illegal and is regarded as a weapon.
According to the law in Hong Kong, having in possession of a stunning device is liable to a maximum jailterm of 14 years and a fine of 100,000 Hong Kong dollars.
So far this year, three Thais have been arrested at Hong Kong international airport – two in February and one in July for possessing stunning devices.
They were jailed from one day to one month and fined between 1,000-20,000 Hong Kong dollars. Three more cases were reported last year.
