The story of the Malaysian, the ladyboy…and no case to answer

A Malaysian man went to the Hat Yai police after 70,000 baht had gone missing from his room.

He said that he had arrived in Thailand with a friend by car from across the border and changed 77,000 baht up. He put 70,000 baht in an envelope and kept the rest for immediate expenses. The bulk of the money he left in his room. He then went out and picked up “Mr A” for sex. Following the nighttime activity in his own room the Malaysian took Mr A back to his residence.
At 5 am while getting ready to go on to Bangkok he found that his envelope was missing and thought it must be Mr A who was responsible so he went to the police and they brought the transgender in for questioning. CCTV revealed that no one had gone into the Malaysian’s room while he was taking Mr A home. A search of Mr A’s address also revealed no evidence. The Malaysian thus did not press charges and the case was merely recorded in the book. Hat Yai focus reported the story in as deadpan a way as Thaivisa has attempted to replicate here.
