Tourists hurt in train derailment

Our top news stories this week included a train derailment on the popular Bangkok to Chiang Mai rout where over thirty people, mainly tourist, were hurt. This was the second derailment in a month and provoked speculation that the tracks may be in need of maintenance and repair.



More monk-y business

More information came to light over the scandalous activities of now ex-monk Wirapol Kukphol who has corruptly amassed assets totaling over a billion baht including fleets of luxury cars. Other accusations include manslaughter and statutory rape.

Samui Police Officer Killed

Our biggest story of the week covered the tragic death of a police officer in a shoot out at the PTT gas station in Chaweng when a man high on yabba went berserk on the forecourt and we will continue to monitor this story as it evolves.

In other sections we met DJ Dean Lambert who has been entertaining the island for the last fourteen years and has ensured events from beach parties to weddings have been both memorable and enjoyable. We also met Vicky C from Island girl who has been taking care of the islands western population of women’s fashion needs.


The finalists in our quest to find the best Fish and Chips on the island were announced and our competition to find the best Pizza on the island was launched.
We took a walk down the Bophut Fishermans walking street to find out what was on offer and took a hard look at the film Red2
