Tourist from Belgium rescued from the sea in Koh Samui

On October 29th a Belgian tourist was rescued in Koh Samui after being washed out to sea. The 26 year woman was pulled out of the waves after drifting for over five hours by a passing fisherman at around 6.40pm.
The woman who had been waving frantically was suffering from panic and exhaustion, the kind skipper Captain Nanthapong Khacha-art gave her dry clotes, a hot drink and bread before contacting authorities. When the boat docked an ambulance was waiting ready to take the woman to hospital for a checkup.
According to the tourist police in Koh Samui the woman was visiting Samui with her boyfriend. They had been to the Full Moon Party in Koh Phangan the night before the incident, after an argument the woman went for a swim the following morning, her boyfriend left for Europe. After hiring a kayak the 26 year old jumped into the waves to enjoy a swim but got swept away by a strong curren at around 1pm, it was only by pure luck she was spotted by a passing vessel.
