Trang holds Underwater Wedding

The Southern province of Trang is organizing its annual underwater wedding ceremony with twenty couples set to sign their wedding registrations 10 meters underwater at Kradan Island later today.
Twenty couples, half of whom are foreigners and have pre-booked to participate in this year’s ‘Underwater Wedding Ceremony,’ arrived in Trang province since yesterday to engage in ceremonial activities, including the planting of the Mahesak and Saksayamin royal trees, which symbolize unity and collaboration. The trees also represent faithfulness, lasting love and blessings due to their longevity.
After the planting, the couples experienced various provincial cultural activities such as the baking of Trang cakes, making Chinese steamed dumplings, weaving, harvesting rice and even taking part in a folk play.
The day concluded with couples attending a wedding parade around the city and being treated with various traditional delicacies.
After the wedding registrations of the twenty couples today, there will be a celebratory dinner in a nature-themed setting. On February 15th, the couples will participate in planting seagrass and take a trip to a mangrove forest before returning home.
