Treasury to mint commemorative coins marking the passing of the King

The Treasury Department will mint commemorative coins marking the passing of His Majesty the King for collection.
Chakkrit Parapantakul, the director-general of the department, said the department is now in the process of discussion with other relevant state agencies on the designs of the commemorative coins and appropriate time for distribution before forwarding the plan to the cabinet and the Bureau of the Royal Household for final approval.
He also disclosed that commemorative coins which are still sought after by collectors include coins marking the third anniversary of the King’s birthday, the 30th and 50th anniversary of the King’s accession to the throne.
