Tropical Murphy’s Monday Night Pool 24th June

The 21st season of the Tropical Murphy’s Monday Night Pool League got off to a great start on Monday 25th.
At the Premier Bar Ian and Shadow played the first games of the new season. Shadow, a little under the weather after some very busy nights in his bar Thairish, smashed the first frame, but Ian got the upper hand in the second and third frame and won the first point of the season for the home team. Dennis then took on Ian but was no match for Ian’s pool skills and lost all three frames. Steve then took on Mike who convincingly won the first frame, lost the second and went on to win the third taking the second point of the night for Thairish Bar. Brad then gave Jane a run for her money beating her in the first two frames, although she got her own back in the third frame but did not get the point for her team taking the score to 2-2 going into the doubles. However it was Thairish that took the run for glory winning both sets of doubles and taking home a 2-4 win.
Down the road at the Bamboo Bar Jacks were taking a bit of a thrashing. Yak won two of his three frames against Tum and took the first point of the season for his home team. Mark then took to frames from Bill. Nang lost all three of her frames to Oat giving Jacks bar their first point of the night. Dave won one of his frames against Sam who took the other two leveling out the score at 2-2 going into the doubles. Yak and Chai then took on Bill and Tum who only won one frame giving the point to the home team. Mark and Nang then paired up to take on Sam and Oat and took two frames and the home team to a 4-2 win.
In Chaweng Spicy bar smashed Chilin Bar with a 6-0 win, Queens took a surprise beating of Aussieland who won 2-4, Tams suffered a disappointing 1-5 loss to last years division 1 winners On’s Livewire, Mick’s in Maenam were totally wiped out with a 0-6 loss to MeMe, The Hut took a 2-4 defeat to league sponsors Tropical Murphys, Chilin 2 lost 2 – 4 to the Samui Rock Café, the Osteria v Pumpui game was postponed and BadAss bar and The Office both had a bye.
