Tuk tuk driver cleared of tourist bag theft after video goes viral

A tuk tuk driver has been cleared of any involvement in the theft of a tourist’s bag after a video of the incident was shared online.
On Sunday, police arrested Anucha Rod-Udom 18, who admitted to being man in video rwho can be seen snatching the bag from a Hong Kong tourist as he travelled the back of a tuk tuk, reported tnamcot.
The video of the incident went viral after tourist Lau Sai Wei posted it online.
In the footage, it appeared the tuk tuk driver gave a signal a split second before the bag was snatched.
However, Anucha told police and reporters at a press briefing on Sunday that the tuk tuk driver was not an accomplice in the crime.
Speaking on Sunday, acting police commander Sanit Mahathaworn confirmed the tuk tuk driver was not involved.
He said officers watched the video and checked the license plate of the motorbike and found it belonged to a woman called Kae Tuaytong, who is the mother in law of Anucha.
