The Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Department reported today that twenty three people have been confirmed dead in the floods that are now affecting twenty five provinces.

The floods that started on September 27 have hit a total of 11,158 villages in 225 districts and have affected 2,802,512 people in 817,290 households!

Over fifteen thousand people have had to evacuate to higher grounds in Si Sa Ket in Ubon Ratchathani, however in Kanchanaburi, Prachup Khiri Khan, Kalasin and Chumpon the department say the flood waters have receded.

It has been reported that eight districts of Ayutthaya have been hit by floods that are, in some places, a meter deep.

In the east after two hours of torrential rain the city of Pattaya also had one meter floods but the situation has now returned to normal.
