Two men, one British, one Nigerian arrested in Phuket after drug sting operation

In Phuket a British and a Nigerian man were arrested after a series of small drug busts led to a sting operation.
The police were tipped off that Somkid ‘Waew” Kwanngern, 30, was in possession of cocaine at her apartment behind the Patong Municipality Fire Department according to Lt Col Sutthichai Thianpho of Patong Police. When police arrived at around 7pm they asked to search the apartment and found 1.2 grams of cocaine. The woman told police that she had brought the cocaine off a foreign male via one of her friends. She led the police to her friend, a British national named Curtis Martin Taylor age 31. At his apartment at 50 Pi Road a search produced one gram of marijuana that was found in the man’s pocket.
Police then went on to question the man who told them about Henry Onyinyechukkwu, a cocaine dealer. The police then set up a sting operation using Ms. Somkid who called Mr. Onyinyechukkwu asking to purchase 2,500 bahts worth of cocaine. They arranged to meet and make the exchange at Mr. Martins apartment.
When the man arrived the exchange was made with fake notes and when Ms. Somkid signaled the officers the man was arrested and charged with possession of 5.45 grams of a category 2 drug with intent to sell. Ms. Somkid was charged with possession of a category 2 drug and Mr. Martin was charged with possession of a category 5 drug.
