Two women killed instantly as car plunges from third floor of Hat Yai department store car park

Two women were dead at the scene after a Toyota Vios plunged from floor 3A at a downtown Hat Yai department store yesterday evening.
Police said that they think the car had been put into reverse by mistake. It ended up on its roof on the ground floor Thairath reported.
Store staff moved quickly to cordon off the area at 7pm as the bodies were retrieved. Both victims were 35 years old from Thepha district of Songkhla. They were named as Patama Phutsri and Pornthip Bunsingsee.
The railing on floor 3A was damaged. Police said that were not sure how the accident happened but the damage indicated that the vehicle was in reverse.
They surmised that the car was put into reverse by mistake then the driver stepped on the accelerator rather than the brake in a panic.
As is regular practice, the store was not named in the Thai Rath report.
