Update from the Dog and Cat Rescue Samui Foundation

Dear Animal Friends on Koh Samui, We hope you had a lovely Christmas break and have had a good start to 2015. Of course the dogs and cats on Samui need us this year as much as they did in the past years and we are hopeful to be able to continue making a difference for our 4-legged friends. The number of animals we have treated at our shelter in Baan Taling Ngam, at the temples all around Samui as well as on the road or in little neighborhoods is huge. Every year it gets more expensive to keep the Dog and Cat Rescue Foundation up and running. We depend on your help and support, and would like to THANK everyone who’s been helping us in the past and hope to count on you also this year.
We would like to say a very special THANK YOU to the ‘Sisters Of Samui’! Yvonne has handed us over an overwhelming amount of 20,000 Baht, Thank you to all the SOS-Ladies!
We have indeed a big project ahead that we can hardly pay for at the moment. Unfortunately we see more and more cases of distemper at the shelter as well as at the temples we work at or in the villages. We already spend a fortune for our yearly vaccination- and de-worming program for all our shelter dogs to make sure they don’t get sick from the many incoming patience.
What we really want to do now is give all our temple dogs (we work at around 20 temples and many villages all around Samui – some of them have more than 40 dogs) a new vaccine shot to make sure we can keep them healthy. We have worked with those animals for many years, all the resident temple dogs are spayed and were at some point vaccinated but are in desperate need of a booster to prevent a possible outbreak of distemper or parvovirus.
Bea and Michael from Dortmund collected a lot of great things from their vet for our doggies and cats. They also have put up a donation box with flyers at their Cosmetic Studio in Germany. THANK YOU SO MUCH!

Thank you very much for all your help. We hope we can count on your continued support so that we can make even more progress in the future. We believe our efforts to make Koh Samui more animal-friendly have made it a happier and safer place for tourists, for which the tourists are grateful. Our four-legged friends are most grateful for your contribution!
Best wishes
