According to Thailand’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, US State Secretary of State Antony Blinken will meet with Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha during his Southeast Asia visit on December 15 and 16.

The Secretary will also meet with Thailand’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Don Pramudwinai, to discuss bilateral cooperation and have lunch with representatives from the business community, according to the statement from the ministry online.

“This visit will be an opportunity to further enhance the Thailand-US alliance and strategic partnership”.

The statement came in as the US State Department yesterday announced that its Secretary will visit the UK for the G7 Foreign and Development Ministers’ Meeting on December 10 as a guest of honor, adding that he will also be travelling to Southeast Asian nations, including Indonesia, Malaysia, and Thailand to engage with government officials, civil society leaders, corporate stakeholders, and diplomatic staff throughout his tour to discuss regional issues, including the turmoil in Myanmar.
