A British tourist was arrested in Koh Samui yesterday after damaging two ATMs at the beach in Ao Nang, Krabi, on Monday.  Nathaniel T., 30, said the machines wouldn’t give him any money.

Police in Ao Nang received complaints from the bank about the damage and soon had an arrest warrant issued by the court. The tourist was traced to Koh Samui where immigration paid him a visit at his hotel in Chaweng.

He admitted it was him, saying he was cross when no money was forthcoming. He then continued on his holiday from Krabi to Surat Thani. A video showed him repeatedly punching one of the machines before walking off in a huff. 77kaoded called him “angrit sut saep” in their headline – a nasty British piece of work. They did not explain exactly how the police managed to get an arrest warrant in the name of the suspect. He is being taken back to Krabi to face the music.
