Walking the Samui Ring road – how it all started!

On the 3rd January 2010 Des Gillet & Geir Salamonsen decided to attempt to walk round the entire Koh Samui ring road. They set of at 7am and managed to complete the walk in 9 hours & 50 minutes.
From that day forward the duo continued to walk the ring road and on the 7th February 2016 Des and Geir both completed it for the 10th time and had some T-shirts made up to mark their achievements. Geir holds the record at 6 hours 55 minutes on 23rd February 2014 & Des’s best time was 7 hours 42 minutes on 18th December 2011.

Now we have a possible new contender for the fastest time, his training times for 20 kms & 32 kms indicate that he could better Geir’s time, he is from Australia & his name is Paul Williams…..We will see!!
