While Thais just stare brave “farang” comes to the rescue in Chinatown stabbing

Police in the Yaowarat area of Bangkok praised the actions of a foreigner who came to the rescue of a man who had been stabbed repeatedly by a monk.
The incident happened Friday outside a hotel in the famed Chinatown area of the capital.

A 45-50 year old monk named as “Phra Niwat” is in custody after he attacked a layman in the street with a knife.
The reason for the attack is not yet known as the monk’s evidence is confusing.
There was a lot of blood from head wounds but as a local crowd of people looked on in horror the Westerner stepped forward to offer assistance in first aid.
Pol Lt Ongart Singhaphakdee of the Plapplachan police praised the actions of the foreigner who was the only one brave enough to step forward and help. He offered assistance despite the fear of possibly being assaulted himself.
