Two employees from the Flying Squirrels Zipline in Chiang Mai have been charged with fatal negligence after the death of a Chinese tourist last Sunday. Thaweesin Pongpanasawasdi, 31 and Atiwat Orkam, 23, both surrendered to the police to acknowledge the charges after Chinese tourist Wang Qi broke her neck while riding the zipine. According to the police investigation the two staff members instructed the tourist to ride the zip line at the same time as another tourist which caused the sling to accelerate too fast, when the ride hit the end of the line it did so with such force it snapped the victim’s neck.
